We strive to provide compassionate, quality, evidence-based care in a professional, respectful and friendly environment. The principles of our practice focus on providing excellent, accessible and competent care with emphasis on creating a medical home while maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism in all we do. Ruchi Mehta, MD, FAAP
Owner of All Star Pediatrics
& Sports Medicine

Dr. Mehta completed her undergraduate studies at University of Washington. Obtained a Medical Doctorate degree from Ross University School of Medicine and trained in Pediatrics from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center/University of Medicine & Dentistry New Jersey.

Dr. Mehta has trained at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Jersey Shore University Medical Center Sports Medicine Fellowship program - training under one of the non-operative sports medicine field's founding fathers. Have worked as an assistant team physician at Rutgers University (NCAA Division I), Georgian Court University (NCAA Division II) and as head team physician for Raritan High School (Hazlet, NJ). Have served as event physican for The New York Marathon, The New Jersey Marathon, Big East Track & Field Championship, NCAA Women's Sweet 16 Basketball event, Olympic Development Program (ODP) Soccer activities, NJ Special Olympics, among other meets and multi-sport events.

 

So what is a Sports Medicine Physician?

 

Specialized training which promotes life-long fitness & wellness, & encourages prevention of illness and injury to help patients maximize function and minimize disability/time away from sports, work or school. They are experienced physicians with a primary speciality such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics with additional training in Sports Medicine through accredited Sports Medicine Fellowships. They can provide treatments such as: prescribed activity modification, training error correction, stretches & home exercises, physical therapy prescriptions, medications, and procedures including injections or fluid.

 

Outside of work, Dr. Mehta enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking, playing tennis and cooking.
